VIDEO: Lily and Calder Make Nicoise

In this video tutorial, kids will learn to make a niçoise (pronounced nee-swaz) salad. It’s a fun project, because although it looks fancy when it’s finished, the actual steps are very easy for kids to do themselves.

Looking for new activities to share with your children? You’ll love the Little Sous Kitchen Academy!

There are many different styles of this French dish, and once you’ve learned how to make it, feel free to experiment with your favorite ingredients to create your very own version. To get you started, we’ve followed the theme of this month’s box, “Eat the Rainbow,” by combining as many colors as possible in the recipe. This lesson will also teach your Little Sous how to make a vinaigrette, help develop knife skills, and explain the difference between regular salads and “composed” salads. Enjoy!
