Kids Can Own Nacho Night!

Some dishes just have it, you know? They may not be anyone’s show-off potluck entry. They don’t figure in any grand foodie reckonings of the great cuisines. They just make people happy—fast, fun, and as simple as that. In the quest to teach kids to cook, starting with the easy wins is a great idea.

So it is with nachos: pure cheesy joy, and a cinch for kids to master. Part of our You Did It! video series, a collaboration with Tillamook, this video demonstrates how heaps of chips and cheese and just a little adult help can leave kids one dish wiser.

You’ll need:
Tortilla chips
Tillamook Cheddar Shredded Cheese
Your favorite toppings, like: pico de gallo, black beans, sour cream, black olives, and cilantro

1. Ask an adult to help you preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Lay tortilla chips evenly over the surface of a sheet pan.
3. Generously sprinkle the chips with Tillamook cheddar shreds (don’t be shy!) Ask an adult to help you put them into the oven to bake until melted, 10-14 minutes.
4. Add your favorite toppings, as little or as much as you like! We made ours with pico de gallo, black beans, Tillamook sour cream, black olives, and cilantro.
